Description
Izmir rugs and kilims are handmade by semi-nomadic tribes who live in Western Turkey. Wool and locally produced natural dyes are used in their weaving. Predominant colours used are cream, browns, beige, and blues. The designs used have representation of flowers, ears of grain sometimes stylized animal and human figures. These bold oriental designs will inspire a variety of interiors – from traditional and contemporary to south western decors.
